Consumer goods distributor Sandea Wholesale has announced a major expansion after securing a seven-figure funding package from HSBC UK, enabling the business to scale up operations and invest in new technology.
The Harrow-based wholesaler has relocated to a larger facility, increasing its storage capacity by 50 per cent as part of a wider growth strategy aimed at entering new business markets in the UK and overseas. The move is designed to support rising demand from independent retailers for high-quality consumer goods, particularly across over-the-counter medicines and health and beauty categories.
Alongside the relocation, Sandea Wholesale has invested in its supply chain and logistics infrastructure. This includes the adoption of cloud-based order management systems and AI-driven demand forecasting tools to improve efficiency, strengthen availability and support expansion into new sectors.
The funding will also support the creation of six new roles and is expected to help drive a projected £12 million increase in revenue over the next 12 months.
Sanjeet Manek, CEO of Sandea Wholesale, said the backing from HSBC UK had been instrumental in accelerating the company’s growth plans. “Our mission since founding Sandea in 2019 has been to deliver exceptional products and outstanding service,” he said. “HSBC UK’s support has been pivotal in helping us grow, enhance our operations and reach new customers. The greater your buying power, the more competitive you become.”
He added that the bank had also helped the business build new commercial relationships. “HSBC’s team introduced us to valuable contacts across various industries, opening doors to new suppliers, retailers and trade partners,” Manek said.
Raj Yadav, senior commercial manager at HSBC UK, said the bank’s support extended beyond finance. “This funding enables Sandea Wholesale to build on its strong momentum, but our support goes beyond just finance,” he said. “Our global network and sector expertise means we have established international connections supporting the business as it responds to growing demands.”
Founded in 2019, Sandea Wholesale supplies consumer goods to independent retailers and has continued to diversify its offer through a focus on innovation, supply chain excellence and customer service.
The company has recently stepped into own-label with the launch of Shamba, a trio of authentic Tanzanian chilli sauces.
