Wrexham Lager lands in Canada

Wrexham Lager now available in Canada through BCLS and LBCO

The Wrexham Lager Beer Co, the oldest lager brand in the UK, has landed in Canada, following new partnerships with British Columbia Liquor Store (BCLS) and Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LBCO), two of North America’s largest alcohol retailers.

In British Columbia, Wrexham Lager is now being sold in 92 BCLS locations, as well as a number of Licensed Retail Stores (LRS) across the province.

The new listings see Wrexham Lager available in the 6x 330ml pack format in the BCLS, with the 330ml and 500ml single can format on sale in the LRS. The partnership with LBCO will see the 500ml single can format available across the province of Ontario.

This move marks the latest chapter in the Wrexham Lager Beer Co’s international journey, which over the past 12 months has seen successful expansion into the US, Australian, Scandinavian, Northern Ireland, and Hungarian markets.

“Expanding into Canada is a proud moment for the brand,” Jon Roberts, interim CEO of The Wrexham Lager Beer Co, said.

“With our products now available in Ontario and British Columbia, Canadian customers now get to experience a taste of our premium lager. It’s another milestone for the team and our global success demonstrates the appetite for genuine and authentic lager.”

The Wrexham Lager Beer Co produces lager beer made with the finest ingredients, using a unique original recipe that is over 140 years old and still to this day follows those traditional Bavarian methods of its founders.

The business is co-owned by actors Ryan Reynolds, a native of Canada, and Rob McElhenney, alongside the Roberts family, who have been involved with the brewery since 2011.

Their co-ownership of Wrexham Lager forms part of a broader investment in the Wrexham community, which also includes their high-profile ownership of Wrexham AFC.
