Vinarchy, one of the world’s leading wine companies, has announced the appointment of Amanda Almond as regional managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), effective 1 September 2025.

The appointment follows the decision of current regional managing director, Derek Nicol, to step down and pursue other opportunities.

Almond brings more than 25 years of experience in the beverage industry, including senior leadership roles at Bacardi, PepsiCo and Lindt. Most recently, she led Bacardi’s operations across North Europe, Iberia, Greece, the UK, and Ireland.

“Amanda is known for her commercial acumen and strong leadership, alongside her passion for growing premium brands and high-performing teams,” Ben Clarke, Vinarchy executive chairman, said.

“She brings a great mix of industry knowledge, strategic thinking, and people-first leadership. Her experience and energy will be a great asset as we continue to grow our presence across EMEA.”

Almond said: “I am thrilled to be joining Vinarchy at such an exciting time for the company. I look forward to working with the EMEA team and our valued customers across the region to grow our amazing portfolio of brands and drive the wine category forward.”

Ben Clarke thanked Nicol for his contribution and leadership during a pivotal period for the business.

“Derek has played a key role in transforming the EMEA region and leading our global supply chain. We thank him for his drive, energy and commitment over the past five years. We wish him all the very best for the future.”

Vinarchy is formed in April by Australian Wine Holdco Limited (AWL), a consortium of international institutional investors, combining the assets of wholly-owned Accolade Wines with the Australian, New Zealand and Spanish wine businesses formerly owned by Pernod Ricard, which were acquired by AWL that month.

The company appointed Danny Celoni as its chief executive in May.
