Takis is broadening its UK portfolio with the launch of new 55g non-price marked packs (PMPs) across three of its bestselling flavours, giving convenience retailers greater flexibility to merchandise the brand across a wider range of shopping missions.
The rolled tortilla chip brand is introducing the new format for its Fuego, Intense Nacho and Smokin' BBQ variants, complementing its existing range while targeting new distribution opportunities in grocery, convenience, travel retail and vending.
The supplier said the new 55g non-PMP packs are particularly suited to meal deals, vending and travel retail, where price-marked packs can limit ranging opportunities. The format is also designed to give retailers greater control over margins and promotional activity while maintaining the brand's premium positioning.
Marta Valles Sanchez, marketing director of Takis Europe, said the launch would help the brand reach more shoppers and consumption occasions.
“This extension enables Takis to reach consumers in more consumption occasions and channels,” she said.
“The new 55g non-PMP format gives retailers greater flexibility to offer the brand in meal deals, vending, and travel retail, while continuing to deliver the bold flavour experience that Takis is known.”
Takis said the new packs retain the intense flavour profiles that have underpinned the brand's rapid growth in the savoury snacking category while offering retailers an additional format to support high-value purchasing missions.
Originally launched in Mexico, Takis has been expanding its presence across the UK grocery, convenience, wholesale and foodservice sectors. The company said it continues to invest in innovation as it seeks to attract new shoppers and drive incremental category growth.
