Smiths News has announced the appointment of Mark Sugden as Operations Director, strengthening its operational leadership team as the business prepares for future growth and the national expansion of its network.
Sugden brings over 24 years’ experience and expertise within operations and logistics.
Having initially joined Smiths News in a network-focused role, Sugden has played an important part in supporting the development of the company’s strategic plans and future network ambitions. Sugden’s appointment reflects both the contribution he has made since joining the business and the confidence placed in his leadership.

As Operations Director, Sugden will lead the continued delivery of safe, reliable and efficient operations across the Smiths News network, while supporting the business's long-term growth objectives.
Key priorities will include maintaining strong customer service, developing talent across the business and ensuring the successful delivery of strategic growth initiatives.
