PR agency Mercieca says it has strengthened its food and drink specialism with the appointment of James Lowman as a consultant.

In a statement statement, Mercieca said that James "brings valuable expertise to the agency, supporting its mission to deliver standout, insight-led campaigns for some of the UK’s leading FMCG brands".

The appointment follows a three-decade-long career at the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) where James was Chief Executive, leading high-impact lobbying campaigns shaping policy on product regulation, trading hours, employment and planning. He has given evidence to parliamentary committees, spoken at party conferences and policy forums, and has regularly represented the sector across national media.

“We’re proud to welcome James to the agency at an important point in our growth," said Rod Taylor, Managing Director at Mercieca. "With nearly thirty years’ experience working with retailers, suppliers, the media and government, James brings a unique depth and breadth of knowledge that will strengthen the advice and support we provide to clients. His expertise will enhance our capabilities across the business, and we’re looking forward to the impact he’ll make.”

Lowman added: “Mercieca has supported some of the UK’s leading brands to communicate, engage and influence through trade and consumer media and creative work. I’m really looking forward to working with the team and I hope to add my knowledge and perspective to build on the superb skills and experience already within the company.”
