EG on the Move has launched a new roadside service station and convenience store in Stowmarket.

Known as EG On the Move Stowmarket, the new to market site is located on the A1308 Needham Road and is the latest new store launch by EG on the Move, working in partnership with Co-op. It is the first to launch following the opening of a number of trial locations last summer, with shared ambitions to launch further sites together later this year.

The 24-hour site includes four Ultra Rapid EV charging points, and eight pumps offering both standard and hyperform unleaded and diesel fuel. Air and vacuum is also available, with two jet washes coming soon.

Co-op’s convenience store will also open 24-hours, operating as a franchise. The offer includes a self-service Starbucks coffee on-the-go; bakery products and hot food, alongside a focus on quality fresh, chilled and healthy produce; meal deals; freshly prepared sandwiches; car care products; ready meals, pizzas and, everyday essentials.

The food service offer at the roadside service station also includes a branch of Delice De France, opening between 6am-2pm.

“We are delighted to be working with EG On The Move on our latest site - and proud to launch in Stowmarket to serve the community,” Martin Rogers, Director of Partnership Development, Co-op, said.

“We are focused on scaling our franchise business, this is the first site to open together following our successful trial, developing a compelling forecourt and convenience food offering as our partnership looks to expand and we explore more locations for joint growth.

“By combining our membership , convenience knowledge, tailored product ranges, and automated supply, with EG On The Move’s fuel and franchise expertise, our partnership will bring the benefits of Co-op to more communities.”

Zuber Issa, CEO, EG On The Move, said: “As a trusted, quality, convenience retailer our partnerships with Co-op aligns with EG On The Move as an acknowledged petrol forecourt and convenience retail destination operator, we are delighted to collaborate on our latest site, and we look forward to growing our relationship with Co-op in the future.

“Our work with Co-op enhances our convenience store offer, ensuring our customers have access to exceptional fuel retail services including EV charging, a wide choice of premium grocery products and essentials, along with an enjoyable foodservice experience.”

EG On The Move was part of EG Group but is now a subsidiary of EG Retail Services, after EG Group sold its remaining UK forecourt business and certain foodservice locations to co-founder Zuber Issa.

Earlier this year, EG On The Move has completed the acquisition of Applegreen UK’s convenience and fuel retail network, adding 98 sites and approximately 40 foodservice concessions to its portfolio.

The company has carved out a niche in the retail sector by integrating traditional fuel services with modern convenience retailing, including electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
