East of England Co-op has expanded its rapid grocery delivery service through a new partnership with Uber Eats, making 33 of its food stores across East Anglia available on the delivery platform.
The retailer is using Snappy Technologies' Order Aggregation (OA) platform to integrate with Uber Eats, enabling it to manage orders from multiple online marketplaces through a single system while giving customers another convenient way to shop for groceries, fresh food and household essentials.
The latest rollout builds on East of England Co-op's existing relationship with Snappy Technologies. The retailer already uses the company's OA platform to process orders from Snappy Shopper and Foodhub, with the addition of Uber Eats allowing all marketplace orders to be managed through the same operational workflow.
Simon Dryell, chief commercial officer at East of England Co-op, said the partnership would help the retailer meet growing consumer demand for convenience.
"We're delighted to partner with Uber Eats and launch the service across 33 of our food stores," he said.
"Snappy Technologies' OA platform has given us a fast and efficient route to launch on Uber Eats while simplifying the management of our online channels.
"This partnership helps us meet the changing needs of our communities, ensuring customers can access the products they need quickly and easily from their local East of England Co-op."
The launch reflects the continued growth of the rapid grocery delivery sector, with convenience retailers increasingly adopting multiple online ordering platforms to broaden their reach. However, managing separate marketplace integrations can create operational challenges, prompting greater adoption of aggregation technology.
Andy Batt, vice president of Snappy Technologies, said retailers were looking for simpler ways to serve customers across multiple delivery channels.
"Retailers want to offer customers as many ways to shop as possible but managing multiple marketplace integrations individually can quickly become operationally complex," he said.
"Our Order Aggregation platform removes that complexity by enabling retailers to connect with leading delivery platforms through a single integration while maintaining operational efficiency.
"We're delighted to support East of England Co-op as it expands its rapid delivery offering and continues to invest in delivering greater convenience for customers across the communities it serves."
Snappy Technologies is part of Snappy Group, alongside the Snappy Shopper quick-commerce marketplace and Snappy Media retail media business. The group provides technology covering order aggregation, EPOS integrations, last-mile delivery and retail media solutions for convenience retailers.
According to the company, its technology platform has now processed more than 20 million customer orders and generated over £500 million in retailer sales, supporting thousands of convenience retailers across the UK.
