Cornish Cheese Company launches ‘Dozmary’ soft cheese
  • The Cornish Cheese Company is an award-winning artisan cheesemaker based in Upton Cross, Cornwall, best known for their Cornish Blue, a former World Cheese Awards Champion
  • Dozmary takes its name from the nearby Dozmary Pool on Bodmin Moor, a site rich in Cornish legend and natural beauty

The Cornish Cheese Company has introduced Dozmary, a striking new soft cheese crafted for the speciality market, blending artisan skill, Cornish provenance, and serious flavour.

Inspired by the wild beauty and myth of Bodmin Moor, Dozmary takes its name from the legendary Dozmary Pool believed to be the final resting place of King Arthur’s sword, Excalibur. The name reflects the cheese’s identity and strong connection to its local landscape.

Developed as a bolder, more flavourful evolution of the company’s popular Cornish Camembert, Dozmary is made with locally sourced milk and matured to create a rich, buttery paste, with vegetal aromas and a luxuriously oozy texture. The result is a soft cheese with serious character – full-flavoured, complex, and rooted in the West Country’s rich cheesemaking tradition.

Though still in development at the time, Dozmary was quietly submitted to the International Cheese & Dairy Awards 2025, where it made an immediate impact, taking home Supreme Champion in the Speciality Cheese Class.
