Co-op is expanding its “store within a store” partnership with fashion retailers Peacocks and Bonmarché, with six new concessions opening this month.
The latest openings take the combined number of Peacocks and Bonmarché concessions operating inside Co-op stores to 20.
Four new Peacocks concessions are opening in Co-op stores in Cranleigh, Surrey; Machynlleth, Powys; Kippax, Leeds; and Whitby, North Yorkshire.
The openings take the total number of Peacocks concessions within Co-op stores to 13. The retailer has also opened seven new Peacocks stores in its wider estate this year.
Meanwhile, two new Bonmarché concessions are opening at Co-op stores in Lampeter, Ceredigion, and Shotts, North Lanarkshire, taking the total number of Bonmarché concessions within Co-op stores to seven.
The two openings follow four Bonmarché concessions launched inside Co-op stores earlier this year in Plympton, Hereford, Prudhoe and Stornoway.
Co-op said the “store within a store” format is part of its strategy to create stores offering a wider range of services and act as local destinations. It said the partnership brings additional shops, employment opportunities and consumer choice to high streets and communities.
The concessions will stock the fashion retailers’ latest collections, including clothing essentials, nightwear, accessories and footwear.
Bonmarché's offer includes collections from brand ambassadors Lisa Snowdon and Lorraine Kelly, alongside its Dash and Autonomy brands. Peacocks will feature collections from celebrity ambassadors Dani Dyer, Louise Redknapp and Michael Owen, as well as the new Dani Dyer Mini Collection for children.
Kevin Buchan, head of partnerships at Co-op, said the retailer was “delighted” to grow its partnership with the two fashion brands.
“Providing a home for Peacocks and Bonmarché inside the local Co-op enables them to bring their latest value fashion collections to more communities, at the same time providing a new store, employment opportunities and additional consumer choice, locally,” he said.
