Cadbury is bringing together two major confectionery and biscuit brands with the launch of Cadbury Delights OREO, a new snack bar aimed at the growing permissible indulgence market.
The new product combines Cadbury chocolate with OREO pieces and is positioned as a source of fibre, with each bar containing fewer than 100 calories.
Cadbury Delights OREO will become a permanent addition to the existing Delights range, joining Salted Caramel and Hazelnut Flavour & Caramel.
The launch is aimed at calorie-conscious shoppers looking for a more permissible treat, while offering retailers a new product designed to drive incremental sales in the sweet snacking category.
Consumer testing found strong appeal for the product, with the brand saying shoppers responded positively to its combination of indulgence and suitability for different lifestyles.
Eloise Lake, junior brand manager at Cadbury, said: “Cadbury Delights OREO brings together two iconic brands in an exciting new under 100 calorie per bar format.
“The new product gives shoppers another great tasting option, allowing them to enjoy an indulgent treat that fits with their lifestyle and wellbeing goals.”
Cadbury Delights OREO will launch across grocery and convenience channels from mid-September and will be supported by an above-the-line campaign.
The product will be available in 80g four-packs with an RRP of £1.25 and 100g five-packs priced at a recommended £1.75. Cases contain nine packs.
