Aldi has invested a further £100 million in cutting the prices of more than 330 products as the supermarket steps up efforts to help shoppers manage grocery costs during the summer holidays.

The latest investment takes Aldi's total spending on price reductions to £300 million so far this year, with the retailer having lowered the prices of more than 1,000 products in 2026.

The cuts cover a wide range of everyday grocery lines, including fresh and frozen food, cupboard staples, household essentials and personal care products.

Among the reductions, shoppers can save up to 80p on selected British steaks, including the 21-Day Matured Sirloin Steak, now priced at £4.49, and the 21-Day Matured Ribeye Steak at £4.59.

Fruit and vegetable prices have also been reduced, with Aldi cutting 40p from its four-pack of nectarines and 22p from honeydew melons. Other savings include 40p off Specially Selected Cheddar cheeses (350g), now £2.99, 30p off Diced Chicken Breast (600g), now £3.99, and Filled Pasta, now £2.19. Aldi has also reduced the price of its Lacura SPF50+ Sensitive Lotion from £3.29 to £2.99.

Julie Ashfield, chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, said affordability remains a priority for the retailer.

“It's never been more important that everyday grocery essentials and family favourites remain affordable,” she said.

“We're committed to keeping prices low on popular products because we know it can make a real difference, helping families to make the most of the summer.”

The latest price cut comes as competition among supermarkets remains intense, with retailers continuing to ramp up promotions to attract value-conscious shoppers. The BRC-NIQ Shop Price Monitor showed shop price inflation eased to 0.9 per cent in July, helped by a wave of summer promotions across food and non-food categories, including deals on snacks and alcoholic drinks during the football World Cup.

Alongside the price reductions, Aldi is continuing its Summer Support Scheme, which is giving away £50 grocery vouchers to families every day throughout July and August.
