A F Blakemore has opened a new SPAR store in Townhill, Swansea, after retailer Mandeep Sohal joined its Blakemore Trade Partners Plus (BTP+) proposition.
The move reflects growing demand from independent retailers for a partner offering simplicity, value and long‑term stability. Under BTP+, retailers benefit from no delivery fees, no surcharges, and the opportunity to earn up to eight per cent in rebate, alongside full development support including store layout, planograms, POS, EPOS and operational guidance.
The store has seen an immediate uplift in customer spend, including a £140 transaction in its first week - a level of spend Mandeep Sohal says “simply wouldn’t have happened before.” The improved chilled and fresh offer has been a clear hit with locals.
“Joining SPAR has been a fantastic move for our business,” said Mandeep. “Customers are spending more time in store and exploring the wider range. The increased fresh and frozen offer was a big driver for us, and being able to achieve up to eight per cent rebate is a real bonus.
