Wall’s Scotch Eggs recalled over salmonella risk

Wall’s Scotch Eggs recalled due to salmonella risk, with refund and recall notices

The Compleat Food Group has issued a recall of two chilled Wall’s Scotch Egg products after the presence of salmonella was detected during routine testing.

The affected items are:

  • Wall’s The Classic Scotch Egg (113g) – Use by 02 July 2025
  •
  • Wall’s 2 Classic Scotch Eggs (226g) – Use by 02 July 2025
  •

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued an alert on Tuesday confirming the recall and urging consumers not to eat the products. Instead, customers are advised to return the items to the store they were purchased from for a full refund.

The company has informed all retail partners to display point-of-sale notices explaining the recall and refund process. Shoppers can also contact the brand directly for further information at customercare@compleatfood.com.

Salmonella can cause symptoms such as fever, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps. Vulnerable consumers, including children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems, are at particular risk.
