Urban Eat. unveils limited edition Coronation range

UK sandwich brand, Urban Eat, has announced it will bestow the royal treatment upon Food-To-Go chillers up and down the country this spring by marking the crowning of King Charles III with a limited-edition range.

Loyal subjects of the UK will be offered two quintessentially British sandwiches; national treasure Smoked Ham and Egg, as well as the brand’s crowning glory: Coronation Chicken. Available from 17 April until 9 June the regal eats are set to be the perfect accompaniment to luncheons, afternoon teas and street parties up and down the land.

The sandwiches will also be draped in gloriously patriotic Union Jack packaging to ensure shoppers can easily spot the limited-edition treats amongst the crowd. Available throughout forecourts, convenience, education and contract catering retailers, the Coronation range will be supported by at-fixture POS, store posters and social media activity.

“With such a historic event just around the corner, it’s only appropriate that we help the UK celebrate with a special lunchtime treat," said Abigail Nelson-Ehoff, Brand Manager, Urban Eat.

Bira (the), which represents 6,000 independent retailers across the UK, says the extension of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) regulations will finally create a level playing field between high street and online sellers.

"Electrical equipment like vapes are being sold in the UK by producers who are failing to pay their fair share when recycling and reusing of dealing with old or broken items," announced circular economy minister Mary Creagh on December 10. "Today, we're ending this: creating a level playing field for all producers of electronics, to ensure fairness and fund the cost of the treatment of waste electricals.
