The NPD that taps into the ongoing popularity of purple food formats with ube-based products (pronounced ooh-beh) – including viral ube lattes – gaining traction across social media and influencing consumer purchasing behaviour. Made from naturally purple-fleshed sweet potatoes, the crisps offer a lightly sweet flavour profile and aim to deliver strong shelf standout within the premium snacking segment.
Tropical Sun Purple Sweet Potato Chips are rolling out via UK wholesalers now, including Wanis International Foods, which exclusively distributes Tropical Sun products with a recommended retail price of £3.99.
