Three men have been arrested following an armed robbery at the Spar store in Sea Road, Chapel St Leonards.

The offenders, wearing masks, entered the store at 5.50pm on 17 August, and fled with a quantity of cigarettes and cash from a till, after threatening the shop staff

The men, aged 38, 41 and 45, were located and arrested in the local area shortly after the incident. They have been released on bail while investigations continue.

“We are yet to locate the stolen items and our investigations are ongoing,” DS Mike Wilding, of Lincolnshire Police, said.

“We believe the men were carrying weapons and made threats to staff in the shop. We are still trying to establish what these weapons were. No one was injured.”

Wilding has appealed for any witnesses to contact the officers on 101, by quoting incident 297 of 17 August.
