SPAR has issued a recall for its own label Spread Up Choco Duo Hazelnut because it contains almonds which is not mentioned on the label.
This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds (nuts).
The 400g pack with best before dates September 2022, December 2022 and January 2023 has been recalled (Barcode:8710671087409).
The retailer has also issued a point-of-sale notice, advising customers not to consume the product and return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
SPAR added that it has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.
