Brocks of Beech Hill, an established store located in a busy residential neighbourhood in Wellington, has been sold to experienced retailer Vijikaran Sivarasa, in a deal funded through Christie Finance and insurance provided by Christie Insurance.
The former owner, Simon Brock, had owned the business for just over eleven years and sold the business to allow him to retire.
Brock commented, “It has been a real pleasure operating this store for the local community over the last eleven years, and I have made many friends in the process.
"I would like to thank our excellent staff, without whom the shop wouldn’t have been such a success. The new owner is an experienced operator, so I believe he will be able to take the shop to the next level while continuing to serve the needs of all customers.”
Sivarasa, adds, “I am very much looking forward to working here in Wellington. I believe this is a great shop with lots of potential that will make a great addition to my convenience store network.
"I plan to continue the fantastic work Simon has done over the last eleven years and add some further product lines to enhance the customer’s experience. I’d like to thank Matthew McFarlane for his assistance in finding this store for me, and the additional services from Christie Finance and Christie Insurance.”
Matthew McFarlane, Business Agent at Christie & Co, handled the sale process and commented, “It was a pleasure to assist in the sale of this store. From my first visit, I knew the property and business was a great opportunity for a new operator, being in a residential location and with a prominent corner position.
"We had over 30 viewings and 16 offers, and with the assistance of our colleagues at Christie Finance, we are pleased to have completed the deal and see Vijikaran take on the store.”
Tamara Ryan, Finance Consultant at Christie Finance, added, “I had the absolute pleasure of getting to know Vijikaran and Simon during this transaction.
"Vijikaran’s expertise will undoubtedly build on Simon’s achievements and position him as a trusted, recognisable figure in the local community. As always, working alongside my colleagues at Christie & Co and Christie Insurance was a privilege - together, we delivered a unified experience from start to finish.”
Brocks of Beech Hill was marketing at an asking price of £450,000 and sold for an undisclosed price.
