Shalford retailer innovates to protect staff and consumers

A retailer in Shalford, Surrey has found an innovative method to protect his consumers and staff alike in the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

Shoppers at the Snooty Fox in Shalford see themselves in front of a purpose-built screen as they approach the counter.

Frankie and Adrienn Ago, the couple who owns the store, hope the bespoke innovation that minimises contact will offer reassurance for everyone using the store – whichever side of the counter they are situated.

“I feel we need to do this for the common good. It took about four days to complete from start to finish. I designed it all but then used a plumber to connect up the sink and a chippy to do the framework on the hygiene screening. I really hope it will be replicated in other shop entrances,” Frankie said.

The couple has also installed a hand washing station outside store, complete with running water, soap and hand towels.
