RaceTrack Strathclyde relaunched with Co-op brand lines

Co-op Wholesale

RaceTrack estate's Strathclyde store has been re-launched, marking the convenience group's start of a new partnership with Co-op Wholesaler.

Located at 110 St James Road, Glasgow, the store will now stock Co-op brand lines and carry a Proud to Stock Co-op window decal.

The relaunch came with a £500 donation to Townhead Village Hall through Making a Difference Locally (MADL), the charity of Co-op Wholesale. The donation will help Townhead Village Hall continue to provide an important community space for residents, supporting activities that encourage inclusion, wellbeing and community engagement.

MADL raises funds through the sale of Co-op own-brand products in Co-op Wholesale supplied stores, such as RaceTrack, enabling retailers to support charities, community groups and good causes within their local area.

Guna Sud, Retail Manager at Racetrack Strathclyde, said: “We’re delighted to officially relaunch RaceTrack Strathclyde and mark the first store opening under our new partnership with Co-op Wholesale.

“A huge amount of work has gone on behind the scenes to bring everything together, and I’d like to thank the entire Co-op team for their support throughout the process.

"From the initial planning through to launch day, they’ve worked closely with our team to help us deliver a fantastic new-look store, an extended range and an even stronger offering for our customers.

“The response on opening day has been fantastic, and we’re really excited about what this partnership can bring as we continue to roll it out across further RaceTrack stores.”

Kate Carroll, Social Values Lead at Co-op Wholesale, said: "Community spaces such as Townhead Village Hall play a vital role in bringing people together, supporting wellbeing and creating opportunities for local residents. We are delighted that this funding from Making a Difference Locally will help the hall continue its valuable work across the community."

Making a Difference Locally has raised more than £20 million for local charities and good causes across the UK, helping retailers invest directly in the communities they serve.

By supporting local organisations such as Townhead Village Hall, retailers can ensure that funds raised in-store remain in the local area and benefit those who need them most.”
