Primula recalls batches of cheese tubes

Primula has issued a product recall alert for Primula Cheese tubes following the discovery of Clostridium botulinum in one of the products.

Toxins produced by the bacteria can cause Botulism, a very rare but life-threatening condition.

Primula on Wednesday said tubes with the below best before dates are affected by the product recall:

  • 150g Primula Cheese tubes, all flavours – BB 25.12.20 to BB 28.01.21
  • 100g Primula Cheese tubes, all flavours – BB 30.10.20 to BB 10.12.20

The company has stopped all product distribution, and urged retailers to remove Primula tubes from shelves with immediate effect.

Consumers are requested not to eat any Primula Cheese tubes with the above best before dates. They can get a full refund by returning these to stores.
