Pricecheck has been certified as a Great Place to Work for the third consecutive year, as the Sheffield-based FMCG wholesaler and distributor continues to invest in its people alongside strong business growth.

Founded in 1978, the family-owned business is jointly led by Mark Lythe and Debbie Harrison and operates from its headquarters in South Yorkshire. It serves approximately 2,300 customer accounts and exports to more than 100 countries worldwide.

Pricecheck has surpassed £200 million in turnover and recorded 12 consecutive years of double-digit growth, evolving from a specialist wholesaler into an international brand distribution partner.

The Great Place to Work certification is based on anonymous employee feedback and recognises organisations that provide consistently positive workplace experiences.

Despite the scale of its expansion, Pricecheck said maintaining a strong workplace culture had remained a priority.

Debbie Harrison, joint managing director, said: “Growth is often measured in revenue, new customers or market share, but for us, growth only matters if we continue to be a place where people want to build their careers.”

She said achieving certification for a third consecutive year showed that the company was “moving in the right direction”, while continuing to create opportunities for employees, invest in development and ensure colleagues had a voice.

Pricecheck first achieved Great Place to Work certification in 2024 and has since used employee feedback to shape changes to benefits, communication channels, learning and development opportunities and employee engagement initiatives.

People director Lucy Goddard said the recognition was particularly valuable because it was based on feedback from employees rather than a judging panel.

“Three consecutive certifications show the impact of consistently listening, learning and taking action,” she said.

“The feedback we receive helps shape our priorities and ensures we continue building an environment where people feel supported, challenged and able to succeed.”

As Pricecheck enters its next phase of growth, the company said maintaining a positive workplace would remain fundamental to its long-term success.

“Our ambition is not simply to grow the business. It's to grow opportunities for our people,” Harrison added.

“Creating a workplace where colleagues can develop, contribute and enjoy being part of the journey is central to everything we do.”
