Post Office has expanded its financial services offer with the launch of a new online-only travel credit card aimed at strengthening its retail proposition and driving additional income across its branch network.
The new Travel Credit Card replaces a previous Post Office offering and enters the competitive travel credit market with features including zero per cent foreign transaction fees, no annual fee and a six-month zero per cent interest period on purchases.
Post Office said the product is designed to address common customer frustrations when spending overseas, while also supporting in-branch travel money sales and increasing footfall to post offices.
A key feature of the card is the removal of cash advance fees when customers purchase Post Office Travel Money using the credit card, allowing consumers to buy foreign currency without incurring charges commonly applied by other providers.
The Post Office said the move is intended to reinforce its position in the travel money market while supporting postmasters and local communities through additional transaction volumes. The card carries a representative APR of 34.9 per cent variable.
The launch forms part of the company’s wider transformation programme, which focuses on diversifying revenue streams and increasing financial services income across the network. It is also the first new financial services product introduced by the Post Office in 2026, with further banking and financial products expected later this year.
“We’re thrilled to launch our new Travel Credit Card, packed with benefits we know customers really value,” Sean Morley, head of financial services at the Post Office, said.
“With features like no foreign transaction fees and no cash advance fees on Travel Money bought from Post Office, it truly stands out in a competitive market.”
Morley added that the expansion of the financial services range would help customers “get more from their money” while also generating income to support postmasters and communities across the UK.
