PepsiCo is recalling Walkers Variety Snacks Sharing Box after wheat was not declared on the outer packaging, posing a potential health risk to people with wheat or gluten allergies or intolerances and those with coeliac disease.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) on Friday issued an allergy alert for the product, which is being recalled from customers across England, Scotland and Wales.
The recall affects Walkers Variety Snacks Sharing Box, in a 655g box containing six packs, with PLU code 107543 and EAN code 5060430219378. The best before date is 21 November 2026.
According to the recall notice, the outer box does not carry the correct ingredients or allergen information for the Monster Munch Giants Roast Beef 85g pack included in the box. The packaging fails to declare that the product contains wheat, which may pose a risk to people with wheat or gluten allergies or intolerances, or coeliac disease.
The individual bags inside the sharing box are correctly labelled.
PepsiCo has issued a point-of-sale notice to customers explaining the reason for the recall and what consumers should do if they have purchased the affected product.
The company has also been advised to contact relevant allergy support organisations so they can inform their members about the recall.
The FSA advises consumers with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten, or coeliac disease, who have purchased the affected product not to eat it.
Instead, they should contact the PepsiCo Consumer Care Line on 0800 274 777 or visit contact.pepsico.com/walkers to receive a full refund.
