  • In its first anniversary since launch, there have been more than one million Lloyds customer transactions through PayPoint-Bank Local retailers.
  • Almost £170m has been deposited into customers’ accounts.
  • PayPoint and Lloyds plan to expand card-enabled deposits to more locations across the UK.
  • This follows a recent increase in PayPoint’s withdrawal limit to £300, giving customers greater flexibility in how they manage their money locally.

More than one million customer transactions have been completed through PayPoint-BankLocal, as PayPoint and Lloyds mark the industry first partnership’s first anniversary.

The service gives customers more choice in how they manage their money, with access to banking services in PayPoint stores using the Lloyds app or with debit card. Since launch, customers have deposited nearly £170m into their accounts through PayPoint retailers.

Building on the success of the UK-wide service, PayPoint and Lloyds plan to expand card-enabled deposits to more locations across the UK. This follows a recent increase to the withdrawal limit, with customers now being able to take out up to £300.

With many stores offering the service open beyond traditional banking hours, more than 60 per cent of transactions have taken place outside traditional banking hours of Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

“One year on from launching cash services through PayPoint-BankLocal with Lloyds, we’re proud to see the service continuing to grow and offer more customers additional choices on how to access and deposit cash,” said Anthony Sappor, Banking and Digital Engagement Services Director at PayPoint.

“As we plan the next expansion phase of the service, we’re focused on making it even easier for people and businesses to manage cash locally and conveniently, at the times and places that work best for them.”

James Harrison, Consumer Engagement Director at Lloyds, said: “With 28 million customers, we know how important it is for everyday banking to fit easily in people’s lives. As the first high street bank to offer customers the cash deposit service and the easy-to-use in-app feature to deposit cash, it’s brilliant to see the difference its already made. With more locations coming and PayPoint’s increased withdrawal limit, our customers have even more choice in how and when they withdraw and deposit cash in the communities they already live and work.”

PayPoint officially launched PayPoint-BankLocal cash deposits with Lloyds in August 2025, debuting the UK first initiative in partnership with Lloyds Banking Group, including Lloyds and Bank of Scotland.
