A Northampton grassroots football club has celebrated receiving a £7,000 funding award through Coca-Cola Europacific Partners' (CCEP) Support My Cause programme, which gives colleagues the opportunity to champion causes that matter to them.

Gregory Celtic FC marked the occasion at its annual presentation day at St Crispin Community Centre, where club representatives, supporters and the local community came together for an afternoon of celebrations and family-friendly activities. The event also featured a visit from the Premier League Trophy.

The trophy visit was made possible through Coca-Cola’s partnership with the Premier League, giving club members the chance to mark the funding award with a memorable moment at their presentation day.

The funding was awarded after CCEP colleague Caroline Bowker nominated Gregory Celtic FC through Support My Cause, recognising the role the club plays in bringing people together through grassroots football.

Club members said the funding will help Gregory Celtic FC invest in machinery to maintain its pitches, improve facilities and support better playing conditions for the men’s team, with benefits expected across the wider club.

“Gregory Celtic FC means a lot to me and to so many people locally," said Caroline Bowker, CCEP colleague and Gregory Celtic FC club member. "It’s a place that brings people together through football, whether they’re playing, supporting or volunteering behind the scenes.

“Seeing the club receive this funding and mark the occasion with a visit from the Premier League Trophy has been really special. The money will make a real difference to the club, helping improve the pitches and facilities for the men’s team and the wider Gregory Celtic FC community.”

Holly Firmin, Senior Community Partnerships Manager at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, said: “Saturday’s event was a brilliant celebration of Gregory Celtic FC and the role grassroots football clubs play in bringing people together locally.

“CCEP is embedded in communities across Great Britain, and our colleagues live and work in those communities every day. Support My Cause is one way we can help them champion the local causes that matter to them, and it was fantastic to see Caroline’s nomination recognised in this way.”
