Industry charity NewstrAid is calling on everyone working in the newspaper and magazine industry to sign up to its e-newsletter this September as part of a new campaign designed to help more people stay informed about the charity's work and the support it provides
The charity has launched "Sign Up September", a month-long initiative encouraging retailers, wholesalers, publishers, distributors, suppliers and everyone connected to the newstrade to join its growing mailing list.
Subscribers receive regular updates on the charity's work, beneficiary stories, fundraising events and details of the financial, emotional and practical support available to current and former workers across the industry.
To encourage people to sign up, everyone who joins the mailing list during September will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win a £25 book token.
The campaign also aims to raise awareness of the wide range of support available through NewstrAid, ensuring more people know where to turn if they, a colleague or someone they know ever needs help. In 2025 NewstrAid supported more than 1,000 people during the year and provided practical advice to 345 people from the industry.
"Everyday, NewstrAid is here to support people working across the newspaper and magazine industry, but we know there are still many who aren't aware of the help that's available or the work we do," said NewstrAid CEO Neil Jagger..
"Our newsletter is one of the easiest ways to stay connected with the charity. Whether you're a retailer, shop colleague, wholesaler, supplier, publisher or have previously worked in the industry, signing up means you'll receive the latest news, inspiring stories, wellbeing information and opportunities to get involved. We're encouraging everyone across the industry to join us this September and, if you already receive our newsletter, we'd love you to help spread the word by encouraging colleagues to sign up too."
Throughout September, NewstrAid will be working with industry partners and supporters to promote the campaign across social media, newsletters, websites and internal communications, helping to reach as many people as possible.
