Mars Wrigley appoints Adam Grant as new UK leader

Mars Wrigley has appointed Adam Grant, former Regional General Manager at Danone Belgium, as its new UK General Manager.

His appointment is a significant move for Mars Wrigley, as it is the first time the UK business has onboarded an external hire for the GM role.

With 25 years’ consumer goods industry experience, Grant most recently was Regional GM - Danone Dairy UK, Belgium, Netherlands and Ireland, where he led the team to deliver significant growth in sales and category share and was also instrumental in driving Danone’s purpose.

He began his career at Unilever on the graduate management training programme, after which he joined L’Oréal where he ultimately became UK Sales Director - Garnier/Maybelline, moving to Danone in 2004.

“I’m really excited to be joining Mars Wrigley as a Purpose and Principles-led business that aligns so well with my own values,” said Grant. “It’s fantastic to have the opportunity to grow such incredible brands as M&M’s, Galaxy and Extra – to name my own family’s favourites. After almost 90 years of making treats that put a smile on people’s faces, I’m looking forward to leading the UK team to write the next chapter for Mars Wrigley UK in a vibrant and very dynamic category.”

Shaid Shah, Regional President, Mars Wrigley Europe, Russia, CIS & Turkey, said: “We are delighted to welcome Adam to Mars Wrigley. It is clear that, beyond his wealth of experience and drive for results, Adam has a clear sense of purpose, strong personal values rooted in people and an agile mindset. I look forward to getting to know him better as we work together.”
