Mangrove has been appointed as UK distributor for premium French organic vodka Le Philtre, with the brand recently launched nationwide.
Le Philtre champions what it calls “joyful ecology” – a positive, stylish approach to sustainability that is aesthetically striking and environmentally responsible.
SPIRIBAM, with its portfolio of premium spirits, became a majority shareholder in Le Philtre in September 2025, as part of a commitment to diversifying its offering. This new partnership with Mangrove will accelerate the innovative, eco-conscious vodka to the UK market, with initial focus on building distribution with the on and off trade.
Le Philtre is recognised not just for its quality liquid but also its distinctive bottle. Made from recycled waste glass, each distinctive 70cl bottle is available in either green or blue, depending on the type of reclaimed glass used in production. The use of reclaimed materials means every bottle carries subtle variations in colour, while the liquid remains consistent. Designed to be tactile and collectable, the bottles are intended for reuse as vases or decorative pieces, extending their lifecycle well beyond the last drop being poured.
“Le Philtre has already aligned itself with iconic outlets and partners in Europe, like Galerie Lafayette, luxury hotel Le Ritz and La Grande Epicerie de Paris (part of Le Bon Marché),” said Nick Gillett, Managing Director of Mangrove Global. “It is also listed in the first class of Air France, earning its position as a stylish, and luxurious spirit for the discerning drinker.
“It offers UK consumers an elevated tipple and sophisticated drinking experience, at a manageable price point. The bottle looks equally distinctive in a back bar or spirits shelf, making it a real standout spirit.”
Produced in Cognac, Le Philtre uses organic winter wheat and naturally filtered Gensac spring water. Distilled six times in total, the first four distillations take place in a traditional column still, followed by two final distillations, during which a few drops of oakwood distillate are added. The liquid is then rested for 15 days, resulting in an exceptionally pure vodka with a silky texture and refined mouthfeel. Unusually, it is made without filtration, meaning it preserves its unique character and depth.
The brand takes its name from the legendary Love Potion of Tristan and Isolde, evoking romance and French savoir-faire. Its quality credentials have already been recognised internationally, including a gold medal at the Spirits Business Global Masters and Silver at the London Spirits Competition.
Camille Sebbag-Barjon, Brand Director of Le Philtre vodka commented: “Mangrove’s reputation of working with quality spirits aligns perfectly with Le Philtre’s core positioning – an exquisite liquid, with all the style and substance of the French ‘good life’.”
“With an equal focus on sustainability without sacrifice, we look forward to working with the Mangrove team and building on all that we’ve achieved with Le Philtre in Europe.”
To best enjoy Le Philtre’s versatility, enjoy it neat at 6 - 8°C, or use it as your base for a classic Dry Martini or Espresso Martini. One of the brand’s signature serves is Philtre d'amour (vodka, lime, orgeat syrup & sparkling water), a great alternative to the classic Spritz.
Gregoire Gueden, CEO of SPIRIBAM said:
“With the backing of SPIRIBAM and now the distribution expertise of Mangrove, our ambition for Le Philtre is to establish the brand as the premium vodka of choice for discerning drinkers, all the while protecting its extraordinary eco friendly style and ‘art de vivre’.”
The SPIRIBAM portfolio is home to premium rum brands like Chairman’s Reserve and Rhum Clement, all of which exemplify the legacy and craftsmanship of Caribbean rum-distilling. As part of the group,
award-winning distributor Mangrove has responsibility for bringing these exceptional liquids to the lips of the UK’s spirit-lovers.
Le Philtre is available in 70cl and 35cl bottles. The 70cl bottle has a RRP of £39.
