Leading family-owned retailer Boyes to open new store in Hartlepool

Leading family-owned retailer Boyes has signed a deal to open a new store at the Middleton Grange Shopping Centre later this year.

The new store will create 20 full and part-time local jobs and provide shoppers with even greater choice, complementing recent positive lettings activity at Middleton Grange, including EE’s lease renewal.

Fit-out of the unit will begin at the end of September, with the store set to open in time for Christmas – marking a significant boost for Hartlepool’s retail offering and town centre economy.

Founded in 1881, Boyes is renowned for offering value-for-money products across a wide range of everyday essentials, from clothing and homeware to DIY and seasonal items. Its arrival at Middleton Grange represents a strong vote of confidence in the town centre and underlines the progress being made in strengthening Hartlepool’s retail mix.

Boyes Chairman Andrew Boyes said, “Middleton Grange in Hartlepool has been on our target list for many years and we have looked at a number of properties in the centre during this time but none has quite worked for us.
