Karan Retail Acquires Chidswell Service Station

Christie & Co

Karan Retail has acquired Chidswell Service Station, a 0.32 acre modern forecourt and Londis-branded convenience store.

Chidswell Service Station is equipped with six hose fuel pumps and three brick-built dedicated valet bays, each fitted with jet wash, vacuum, air, and water towers. There are eight marked car parking spaces available on-site, providing convenient access for both fuel and shop customers.

It also features a Londis-branded convenience store, offering a modern and well-equipped retail environment as well as essential convenience goods and services.

Situated just off the A653 at the heart of West Yorkshire’s commuter belt, the site enjoys excellent connectivity to Leeds, Wakefield, Huddersfield, and Bradford. It also benefits from strong daily traffic flows due to its proximity to key arterial routes and nearby residential zones.

Having been owned and operated by the same family for over 30 years, Kevin and Chris Cundall recently decided it was time to hand over the reins of the business to a new operator.

They said, “We decided to sell our business after 40 years in the industry to enjoy some quality time with family. We bought and built Chidswell Service Station in 1994 and are proud of the service we have provided to our community. We wish the new owners all the success for the future.”

The business has now been acquired by established operator, Karan Retail Limited, as part of its ongoing expansion strategy within the UK forecourt sector.

Andrew Birnie, Director – Retail & Leisure at Christie & Co, who managed the sale process, comments, “This transaction highlights the continued momentum in the forecourt market throughout 2026. We are consistently seeing multiple offers on quality assets, driven by both independent operators and expanding groups looking to scale.”

Chidswell Service Station was sold for an undisclosed sum, off a freehold asking price of £2,100,000.
