Heineken has confirmed chief executive and chairman of the executive board Dolf van den Brink will step down on 31 May 2026, with the brewerâs supervisory board set to begin a succession process.
Van den Brink, who has spent more than 28 years with the company and led it as CEO for almost six years, said he had decided the timing was right as Heineken enters the next phase of its EverGreen strategy.
âThe past years have been marked by significant change as Heineken progressed through its transformation and has now reached a stage where a transition in leadership will best serve the company in further executing its long-term ambitions,â he said.
âOver the coming months, I remain fully focused on disciplined execution of our strategy and to ensure a smooth transition."
Supervisory board chair Peter Wennink said the board respected the decision and praised van den Brinkâs role in guiding the business through âa demanding period of transformationâ, including delivering on EverGreen 2025 âwhile navigating a challenging external environmentâ.
âWith the launch of EverGreen 2030, Dolf has set out a compelling strategy for the future of Heineken, and the supervisory board greatly values his contribution,â Wennink said.
âThe next phase will focus on bringing this strategy to life through disciplined execution of our strategic growth ambitions. With this in mind, the supervisory board agrees this is the right moment to start the succession process to secure strong leadership for the future.â
Heineken said van den Brink has agreed to remain available in an advisory capacity for eight months from 1 June 2026, enabling the company to draw on his industry experience and deep knowledge during the transition.
