Gulf Retail is giving its UK dealer network access to a new pricing and compliance platform designed to help forecourts meet the government’s Fuel Finder reporting rules while improving pricing decisions.
The new FuelSense system, developed by myAutomate, will enable Gulf sites to submit pump price changes directly to the Fuel Finder scheme within the required 30-minute window, helping independent operators comply with the new legislation.
The launch builds on Gulf’s existing partnership with myAutomate and represents an evolution of the supplier’s PricePro pricing tool. Gulf said the move reinforces its commitment to supporting independent retailers through regulatory change while providing access to advanced, data-driven pricing insight.
Under the Fuel Finder scheme, forecourts must rapidly report price changes, creating additional operational and technical pressures for independent dealers. FuelSense aims to ease this burden by automating compliance while offering additional pricing intelligence and benchmarking tools.
The platform combines multiple data sources, including wholesale oil market intelligence from Portland Pricing and consumer insight from the PetrolPrices app, which is used by more than three million UK drivers. This allows retailers to track competitor pricing, monitor wholesale movements and better understand motorist behaviour.
Gulf dealers using FuelSense will also benefit from centralised dashboards to manage prices, as well as real-time competitor benchmarking to help optimise margins and remain competitive.
Jenny Lockwood, head of retail dealer at Certas Energy UK Limited, said: “As a customer-first business we are committed to providing our nationwide network of Gulf dealers with the tools and resources to provide the very best customer experience.
“FuelSense will offer ‘in the moment’ data, enabling our dealers to track and respond quickly to market changes – ensuring pricing is always in-line with the Government’s recent fuel pricing legislation. We are confident that FuelSense will be welcomed by our dealers.”
myAutomate said the new platform builds on its role in maintaining pricing visibility for forecourts following the transition of Experian Catalist’s PriceViewer service, expanding those capabilities into a compliance-ready solution.
“FuelSense is a natural evolution of our work with Gulf, as well as with the many retailers who use our competitor pricing services,” Clare Lafferty, director at myAutomate, said. “Its development has been driven by direct feedback from our clients and partners - a testament to the strong relationships we’ve built with retailers.”
“By bringing together all our trusted data sources across wholesale and retail pricing plus consumer behaviour, FuelSense enables retailers to make informed data driven decisions.”
