Geeta’s Foods has appointed FMCG sales leader Neil Gilbert as sales director, as the company looks to accelerate growth and expand the UK Indian ambient food category.
The UK’s number one Indian chutney and pickle brand said Gilbert will be responsible for driving Geeta’s continued commercial growth, strengthening retail partnerships, and supporting its long-term ambition to reinvigorate and grow the Indian ambient segment.
Gilbert joins the business with senior sales leadership experience across challenger and high-growth brands, most recently holding roles at BOSH!, PACK’D and Kiddylicious. He has also held senior positions at major FMCG businesses including Britvic, Kimberly-Clark, Red Bull and Cadbury Schweppes.
“We are delighted to welcome Neil to Geeta’s. He brings a rare combination of experience in challenger brands and leading FMCG businesses, making him ideally placed to help accelerate our growth journey,” David Page, executive director at Geeta’s Foods, said.
Page added that Geeta’s is “committed to leading the revitalisation of the Indian category through best-in-class, innovative product development that delivers outstanding value for consumers,” pointing to “nationally recognised awards and market-leading growth” as a foundation to build on.
The company said the appointment follows a period of sustained growth and reflects continued investment in leadership capability to support future expansion.
According to Nielsen data cited by the brand, Geeta’s Premium Mango Chutney is the UK’s number one mango chutney, while Geeta’s is the fourth biggest brand in the Indian ambient category and is growing twice as fast as the category.
