EG On The Move has completed the acquisition of PRAX's 85-site commission operator forecourt network, expanding its UK estate to around 285 locations as the fast-growing business continues its acquisition-led expansion.

The deal brings together a portfolio of forecourts operated by independent commission operators, with EG On The Move saying it will retain the commission operator model while working with site operators to improve performance, enhance customer experience and drive long-term growth.

The acquisition is the latest in a series of deals by the company led by chief executive Zuber Issa, following its purchase of Top 50 indie MPK Garages in May and an agreement announced in March to acquire EG Group's operating business in France, marking its first international expansion. Earlier growth also included the acquisition of Applegreen's UK forecourt estate, adding 98 sites.

"Our business is built on strong partnerships with not only retail brand partners but now independent commission operators," Issa said.

"We are delighted to welcome the PRAX network into our UK site portfolio. We look forward to working alongside each operator to build on the strengths of their businesses, helping make every site more effective, more competitive, and even more attractive to customers."

EG On The Move said it will explore investment opportunities across the newly acquired network, including improvements to motorist welfare facilities, expanded foodservice and grocery offers, and the introduction of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and car wash facilities where appropriate.

The company said combining the local expertise of commission operators with its scale and operational support would help create sustainable growth while improving the customer proposition.

The acquisition follows a period of rapid expansion for EG On The Move since its formation in 2024 after Issa acquired EG Group's remaining UK forecourt network and selected foodservice operations. The company has since focused on growing its convenience retail and roadside foodservice business through acquisitions and retail partnerships.

Ian Woodcock, managing director of Prax Retail, said the completion marked "an important milestone" for the business.

"We are proud of the network we have built and the strong customer relationships we have developed across communities throughout the UK," he said.

"Throughout the process, our priority has been to achieve an outcome that provides continuity for commission operators, employees and customers while creating opportunities for future growth. We believe EG On The Move is well placed to take the business forward, and we thank everyone who has supported the network over the years for their dedication and commitment."
