The East of England Co-op has opened Deli To Go in 16 of its Food store locations, including six stores in Essex.

The ‘grab and go’ deli sections are available from 27 November in Burnham-on-Crouch, Manningtree, Coggeshall, Wivenhoe, West Mersea, Stanway Food stores in Essex.

Deli To Go will feature produce from across East Anglia such as Essex-based Wicks Manor’s award-winning sausages. The local sausage producer has recently won UK Supreme Sausage Champion at the UK Sausage Awards and will be joined on the Deli To Go shelves by regional produce from Lane Farm, Taste of Suffolk, Hamish Johnston, The Greek Olive Company and Purely Pesto.

The regional co-operative said it has chosen products that broaden the variety of foods available over the festive season, including a variety of artisan cheeses.

The Deli To Go section will offer produce from further afield, including Wild Venison Beer Sticks from The Real Cure, fresh custard and rice pudding from Clotton Creamery and a selection of artisan cheeses from The Cheshire Cheese, Croome Cheese and Godsell’s.

Simon Dryell, Chief Commercial Officer at East of England Co-op, said: “We are excited to offer a brilliant range of products from carefully selected producers in our Deli To Go sections that will change with the seasons. We hope that the local communities served by these stores enjoy the benefits of having high-quality fresh produce available.”
