PepsiCo has recalled a batch of Doritos Chilli Heatwave after discovering that some packs may contain milk that is not declared on the label, posing a potential health risk to consumers with a milk allergy or intolerance.
According to an allergy alert issued by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), some 140g packs of the popular tortilla chips may have been filled with the wrong product, which contains milk.
The recall affects:
- Product: Doritos Chilli Heatwave
- Pack size: 140g
- Batch code: GBC 209 184C
- Best before: 5 December 2026
The FSA warned that the presence of undeclared milk makes the product unsafe for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
PepsiCo has recalled the affected batch and is contacting relevant allergy support organisations to inform their members. The company has also issued point-of-sale notices to retailers explaining the reason for the recall and advising customers on the action to take.
Consumers who have purchased the affected product and have a milk allergy or intolerance are advised not to eat it. Instead, they should return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
For further information, consumers can contact the PepsiCo Consumer Care Line on 0800 274777 or visit the company's customer support website.
Retailers are advised to check their stock and ensure any affected products are removed from sale in line with the recall notice.
