Co-op Wholesale has secured a new five-year supply agreement with independent supermarket business Dike & Son.

Operating in Stalbridge, Dorset, since 1851, five generations of the Dike family led its evolution from a small delivery service to a co-branded 18,000 sq. ft. Dike & Son / Nisa Extra supermarket.

Since moving into its current site in 2007, the store has continued to expand and invest in its future.

Dike & Son’s ongoing partnership with Co-op Wholesale (formerly known as Nisa) gives the store access to a wide product range via Central Distribution, alongside the Co-op own brand.

This is complemented by a local sourcing model, featuring an extensive range of direct-to-store and regional suppliers who stock goods in the store.

Dike & Son’s recent investments have included an overhaul of refrigeration to reduce energy consumption and improve sustainability, as well as introducing Electronic Shelf Edge Labels (ESELs) to improve availability and margin control.

Andy Dike, Managing Director at Dike & Son, said, “We’re delighted to extend our relationship with Co-op Wholesale. We’ve worked together for many years, and this new long-term agreement reflects our shared commitment to quality, service, and community.

"With ongoing investments in technology and sustainability, we’re excited about what the next five years will bring for our business and our customers.”

Paul Webster, Partnerships & Sales Director at Co-op Wholesale, added, “Dike & Son is a shining example of independent retail at its best – combining tradition with innovation, and always putting their community first.

"We’re proud to continue supporting them as they grow, evolve and serve their customers with excellence. This new agreement cements our shared ambition for the future.”
