Co-op Wholesale has officially re-launched Sewell On The Go's flagship petrol forecourt convenience store.
The South Cave store in Hull, which carries Proud To Stock Co-op ‘bus stop’ signage, is a prime example of a premium roadside retail facility, refitted to the highest spec and ranged to appeal to shoppers who are looking for more than the average petrol station offerings.
Co-op Wholesale prides itself on understanding the market and applying it to its stores so that customers enjoy shopping there and come back time after time.
Boasting a new instore bakery featuring Co-op Brand goods including pastries, croissants, bread rolls and more for customers to enjoy on the go, the event saw shoppers getting involved with brand activations and giveaways as well as offering support for Co-op Wholesale's charity – Making A Difference Locally (MADL).
A true USP, the charity donates funds to support local charities based directly on in-store spend. As part of the re-launch, MADL has donated £500 to two local causes in equal parts, with £250 to South Cave Scouts and £250 to Jaguar U15 Girls Football team.
One of 12 Sewell On The Go sites operational in partnership with Co-op Wholesale under its Proud To Stock Co-op signage, the store is continuing to trade well and customers have already begun commenting on the excellent product range, fit out and availability.
Holly Perry, Key Account Manager at Co-op Wholesale said: "We're absolutely delighted with the finished refit of Sewell On the Go's South Cave branch. We've achieved everything we wanted to here in creating a super modern PFS outlet, which is set up to go the extra mile."
Patrick Sewell, Director of Sewell On The Go, said: "We're really pleased with our refit – it's all come together so well, and the addition of the Co-op instore bakery is performing even better than planned alongside our coffee and drinks facilities. The process has been nice and smooth while the end result is just brilliant – we've long prided ourselves on having smart stores, but this truly is next level roadside retail proposition."
Kate Carroll, Social Value Lead at MADL, said: "We're delighted that Sewell on the go has chosen South Cave Jaguars U15s Girls and South Cave Scouts to receive a £250 donation each.
"The Jaguars are fundraising for much-needed winter jackets, so the donation has come at exactly the right time with winter approaching. It's fantastic to support a team that not only encourages young people to stay active, but also helps build confidence, friendships and lifelong memories through sport. We wish both groups every success with their endeavours."
