Grace Foods UK, home to leading Caribbean brands Grace, Encona, Dunn’s River and Nurishment, is encouraging households across the UK to consider introducing bold island flavour to their Christmas feasts as a recent survey shows that more people than ever are looking to experiment with global flavours at Christmas.
The 2025 Christmas Trends report found that 17 per cent of 25-34-year-olds are planning to ditch a traditional turkey dinner in favour of non-traditional fare such as curry, pasta or pizza with just 52 per cent of UK adults across all age groups planning to serve turkey this festive season.
So, with demand for global flavours continuing to soar, Grace Foods UK, the number one supplier of Caribbean food and drink in the UK, is spotlighting simple ways to add a sunshine twist to traditional dishes.
For Christmas Day, consider a Jamaican twist to the traditional festive turkey centrepiece by coating the festive bird with Encona’s Jamaican-style Jerk BBQ Sauce to give it that hint of Caribbean heat.
And of course, the Christmas stuffing balls can also benefit from an added bit of jerk sauce. If you are considering a starter, the mackerel fritters, with black bean and mango salsa*** are easy to make and incredibly tasty.
When it comes to catering for vegetarian friends and family around over the festive period, nothing beats Jamaican jerk cauliflower steaks with rice and peas or a one-pot macaroni and chilli bean casserole dish.
And a Caribbean-inspired festive feast wouldn’t be the same without Grace’s strawberry syrup Jamaican rum punch. However, don’t forget those 28 per cent of people who are planning to drink less alcohol this Christmas and the 12 per cent who are planning not to drink at all.
Tropical Rhythms Mocktail Daiquiri or Tropical Rhythms Hot Honey Mango Mocktail, made with Grace’s best-selling range of soft drinks, are easy to make and are guaranteed to impress guests looking to avoid the drinks cabinet this Christmas.
Kimberley Lue Lim, Head of Marketing for Grace Foods UK, said, “With more people than ever looking to introduce global flavours to their Christmas feasts, this presents a great opportunity for families to try some Caribbean cooking, which is all about celebration, warmth and sharing – which is exactly what the festive season should be.
"Our recipes show just how easy it is to bring bold, joyful Caribbean flavours to the table using ingredients many families already know and love.”
