Businesses urged to invest in cash handling technology following Budget’s capex tax break

Delivering his Budget last week, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has announced that the government have increased the Annual Investment Allowance to £1m, meaning that every pound a company invests in IT equipment or machinery can be deducted from their taxable profits.

The Post Office this week reported that personal cash withdrawals rose by 8 per cent during February, following a rise of 20 per cent in 2022, and that figure is only set to increase as the year continues.
