Bacardi brings Breezer back to Britain

Bacardi Breezer bottles in orange, lime, and watermelon flavours

Bacardi Breezer's fruity flavours are back for the summer

In response to the strong demand from a new generation of consumers for RTDs with a fruit-forward taste, Bacardi is bringing Breezer back to the UK.

Sales of Flavoured Alcoholic Beverages (FABs), which are valued at over £300m in the UK, account for nearly half of the growing RTD category and a name as recognised as Breezer for quality and taste will help drive the category’s growth even further.

“We know there is a lot of love for Breezer in the UK, and we are confident a new generation of consumers will fall in love with the new Breezer,” says Steve Young, Business Unit Director for Bacardi in the UK & Ireland. “RTDs are booming, however, the FAB category could do with a bit more excitement. By bringing back Breezer we’re definitely putting the fruity taste into FAB.

The original Bacardí Breezer was first launched in 1990 and in the UK it quickly became a nationwide phenomenon. Now, Breezer is back in a big way with three new flavours: Zesty Orange, Zingy Lime and Crisp Watermelon.

“The early response from our trade partners has been overwhelmingly positive,” says Steve. “Everyone is excited to see Breezer back for the summer!”

The new Breezer is expected to appeal to two distinct groups of consumers. First, Gen Z, a generation of consumers new to Breezer, who will love the fruit flavours and the convenience of enjoying them wherever they might be – whether it’s at summer festivals, house parties or casual get-togethers. And the second group will be those very familiar with Breezer who have happy memories of the good times they spent enjoying bottles of BACARDÍ Breezer with friends.

Breezer has an Alcohol By Volume (ABV) of 3.4 per cent and will be available in 27.5cl glass bottles in bars and stores nationwide from June.
