Harry and Zoe Archer of Shop & Go at Burstwick Service Station near Hull have been named Food to Go Retailer of the Year at the Asian Trader Awards 2026 held in London on Nov 4.

The couple took on the family-run garage eight years ago, after Harry returned home from work and announced that he had bought a petrol station. Since then, they have completely transformed the business, knocking down and rebuilding the site to create a larger, modern store with room to expand its range and services.

Trading under the Shop & Go fascia with Go Local Wholesale, the business has retained its independence while benefiting from promotional, pricing and development support. Its food-to-go and bakery offer has become a central part of the proposition rather than an add-on to the forecourt shop.

The range includes freshly prepared hot and cold food, breakfast items, sandwiches, pasties and savouries, alongside homemade cakes. The team places particular emphasis on freshness, choice and presentation, keeping the section full and well presented throughout the day.

The offer has also created opportunities beyond the store. The Archers now provide buffets and platter catering, extending the business into local events and other occasions where customers need prepared food.

Asian Trader Awards 2026, held at Westminster Park Plaza Hotel in London, recognised the achievements of independent retailers and businesses from across the country, shining a spotlight on the innovation, enterprise, resilience and community spirit that continue to define the sector.

The evening was hosted by actor Nitin Chandra Ganatra. Minister for Artificial Intelligence The Rt Hon Kanishka Narayan MP graced the occasion as the chief guest.
