Aldi has announced plans to open seven new shops next month, generating up to 210 jobs across the UK.
The supermarket giant said on Monday (October 26) it will open the new stores across England throughout November. It includes two new outlets in London, with up to 30 roles at each site. The openings are part of Aldi’s £370million investment in its UK estate this year. The retailer is working towards a long-term ambition of operating 1,500 stores nationwide.
Jonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK, said: "Demand for new Aldi stores remains strong, and we want more shoppers to be able to enjoy our high-quality products at low prices.
"Opening seven stores in November is another big step in our growth plans. It will create hundreds of local jobs and bring Aldi’s value to thousands more shoppers across the country."
News of the new shops comes after Aldi unveiled plans for further store investment, continued price cuts and more long-term agreements with British suppliers in its annual trading update earlier this month.
The German-owned chain also reported operating profits down 1% at £432.9m in 2025, against earnings of £435.5m the previous year as investment in prices and a rising wage bill offset a 5% increase in sales.
Pre-tax profits meanwhile dipped by 3.8% to £400.5m for the year. It said turnover lifted to a record £19billion over the year.
Aldi already has 1,092 shops across the UK and Ireland, said it would open another 40 stores in 2027 as part of a £900m record investment plan for next year.
The business said previously it wants to reach 1,500 shops across the UK with a drive to "focus on communities cut off from affordable groceries due to lack of local choice or competition".
In September, the UK's fourth largest grocery chain said it was opening 30 new stores over the next 10 weeks alone as it ramps up its expansion programme.
