Aldi is set to bolster its footprint in the UK with 16 new store openings between 6 November and 12 December 2025, bringing its value-led offer to more high streets and neighbourhoods across the UK in the peak run-up to Christmas.
The openings stretch from Kirkintilloch in Scotland and Cheadle in Staffordshire to Billericay in Essex and Kentish Town in London, giving more communities access to the discounterās well-known low prices, fresh British produce and popular Specialbuys ranges.
The UKās fourth-largest supermarket is investing Ā£650 million in new stores and refurbishments in 2025 alone. Each new site will create around 40 jobs, adding to the retailerās growing national workforce.
Aldi recently confirmed it would double down on expansion, committing £1.6 billion over the next two years to open around 40 stores annually as part of its drive to make affordable food accessible to more households.
āAt Aldi, weāre focused on making affordable, high-quality food accessible to as many people as possible ā and opening new stores is at the heart of how we do that,ā Jonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK, said.
āLaunching 16 new stores in just over five weeks is a significant milestone for our business and a clear demonstration of the pace and ambition behind our growth plans.ā
To support the busy festive trading period, Aldi has also kicked off a major recruitment push, aiming to hire more than 4,500 store colleagues nationwide. Roles will include replenishing shelves, helping customers and keeping operations running smoothly during one of the busiest times in the retail calendar.
New recruits will benefit from Aldiās status as Britainās highest-paying supermarket, with store assistants earning Ā£13.02 per hour nationally and Ā£14.35 inside the M25.
