JTI unveils new Ploom X Advanced device

JTI has on Monday announced the launch of Ploom X Advanced, an upgraded version of its Ploom X device released in October 2022.

The new device is available in the Greater London area in selected key multiple grocers, and in accredited independent and convenience retailers.

The device includes two key improved features, an optimised HeatFlow system, with higher vapour volume during initial puffs offering an enhanced user experience, and faster charging, taking less than 90 minutes to achieve full charge.

The Ploom X Advanced works exclusively with EVO tobacco sticks available in a variety of flavours and at an RRP of £4.50.

“The Heated Tobacco category continues to grow at a rapid rate and offers huge potential, which is why we are continuing to invest and improve our offer,” Mark McGuinness, marketing director at JTI UK, said.

“With demand for lower-priced tobacco alternatives showing no signs of slowing, the competitively priced Ploom X Advanced bundle offers value for money within the Heated Tobacco category. As well as being more cost effective for consumers, Heated Tobacco sticks also offer higher margins to retailers when sold at RRP.”

Alongside launching Ploom X Advanced, the EVO tobacco sticks range will now include a new Gold variant, which has a smooth and mild tobacco flavour, alongside improved blends for the existing Bronze and Amber flavours.

The Ploom X Advanced is available in a pre-packed format that includes the Ploom X Advanced device, charger, USB cable, cleaning sticks PLUS two packs of EVO tobacco sticks (Bronze & Green Option). This bundle will be available for retailers within the Greater London area at an RSP of £19.

The Ploom X Advanced is already available on ploom.co.uk and will also be available in the bundle format in 12 wholesale depots within the Greater London area from the 18 September. Ploom X Advanced is offered as a bundle in select channels, including 1 device and 2 packs of EVO Tobacco Sticks for £19. The device is used exclusively with EVO Tobacco Sticks (RRP £4.50) which are available to many London retailers within the M25.

The new launch is expected to heat up the category, as last week Philip Morris Limited has unveiled the upgraded version of its IQOS heated tobacco product, IQOS ILUMA.
