Snappy Shopper, Scotmid celebrate over 500,000 orders

The fastest-growing home delivery app serving convenience stores, Snappy Shopper, and its partnership with Scotmid, Scotland’s largest independent co-operative, has delivered over 500,000 orders since partnering in 2019.

With a total of 24 Scotmid stores across Scotland currently teamed up with Snappy Shopper, the last 12 months have seen over 200,000 orders delivered. This growth has seen 41,979 orders more than the previous year- an increase of 21% YOY.

Scotmid share a green agenda with Snappy Shopper by offering a fleet of zero emission Electrical Vehicles (EVs) at 18 of the 24 partnered stores. Every order made on the Snappy Shopper app will be delivered to the customer by an EV, ensuring all Scotmid deliveries are carbon neutral. Not only does the use of EVs make home deliveries more eco-friendly, the £3 delivery fee on orders over £10 makes them budget-friendly too.

Mike Callachan, Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Snappy Shopper, said: “Partnering with Scotmid was a decision we knew would drive mutual growth and success. This is evident in hitting over 500,000 orders since our union began. It’s a fantastic achievement that demonstrates the strength of convenience stores and how teaming up with Snappy Shopper supports local businesses to increase their customer base, enabling them to grow amid the current cost-of-living crisis.

“What’s more, we fully support Scotmid’s effort to make deliveries carbon neutral with its fleet of EVs. We’re confident that they’ll achieve their ambition to have EVs at all their hubs and any future sites.”

Stuart Forsyth, Food Online Development Manager at Scotmid, said: “We’ve seen fantastic growth in our convenience stores since offering Snappy Shopper as a rapid delivery service. It was certainly a milestone reaching 500,000 orders. Using our fleet of EVs allows us to improve our environmental impact whilst meeting high consumer demand for retailers. We are proud to work with Snappy Shopper and look forward to witnessing the continued growth that comes with this partnership.”
