A popular convenience store and post office in Kilve, Somerset has gone on the market as the owners plan to retire.

Located along the A39 between Bridgwater and Minehead, Kilve Stores & Post Office has been trading since the 1960s.

For the past 17 years, the business has been owned and run by the Hirst family who are now selling as they wish to retire.

“We have loved running this store and raising our family for the last 17 years and enjoying the lifestyle this business has brought us,” Matthew Hirst commented.

“The local community and wider population find it easy to pop in for our wide selection of goods and services with the post office adding to the footfall. We look forward to passing the business and our fantastic family home on to the next operator to continue to serve this thriving community.”

Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has been instructed to sell the business. The property also features a modern five-bedroom owner’s accommodation, which has been refurbished to an excellent standard.

“The business is situated in a prominent position on the main road between Bridgewater and Minehead and has off-street customer parking. The beautiful home that is attached to the store with a large, landscaped garden offers a fabulous lifestyle for the new owners,” Matthew McFarlane, Business agent – retail at Christie & Co, said.
