Pukka launches first ever single-serve price-marked pack

Freezer sales in convenience stores across the nation are about to heat up as Pukka, the nation’s number one pie brand, launches its first-ever single pack frozen pie.

A specially-developed recipe and format for the convenience channel, the NEW Pukka Chicken Pie is available in a £1.49 price-marked pack (PMP) and is set to bring Pukka’s full-on flavour to even more shoppers seeking easy and affordable meals, which don’t compromise on taste.

With more shoppers than ever before looking to fill their freezers as they watch their spending, sales of frozen food are surging – and Pukka is in the driving seat, with its full-on flavour frozen portfolio growing more than any other brand3. In fact, Pukka now accounts for two of the top 10 biggest sellers in frozen pies4, having catapulted its share of frozen by +100% in just one year.

Catering specifically to the convenience channel, the new Price-Marked Pack marks the next step in Pukka’s plan to further accelerate growth and create new sales opportunities for retailers. With PMPs representing a huge three quarters of sales in the convenience channel, despite only making up 12% of products5, the new Pukka Chicken Pie PMP is set to help independent retailers take a bigger bite out of frozen by propelling volume sales.

This latest SKU joins Pukka’s existing range of popular four-minute microwaveable, frozen pies and comes in a unique ‘foil’ case which guarantees great-tasting pastry and no soggy bottoms. This time in a handy single pack, Pukka Chicken Pie PMP will allow even more people to keep a Pukka tucked away in the freezer, ready to dish up a convenient, fuss-free, affordable meal in just four minutes.

“Convenience shoppers are seeking good value – but this isn’t just about the price tag,” says Isaac Fisher, Managing Director at Pukka. “They still expect quality, affordability and full-on flavour in equal measure, which is why we’ve created a format – for independent retailers – which ticks all of these boxes.

“We know that frozen food is hot right now, as it represents a great value option for those looking to cut down costs and reduce food waste. In fact, our full-on flavour frozen innovation has already whet the appetites of millions of new shoppers by challenging perceptions of frozen food. Now it’s time bring that success story to convenience with this latest launch.

“Our new individually-portioned Pukka Chicken Pie PMP can be cooked in the microwave, straight from the freezer, in just four minutes – meaning it’s perfectly placed to cater to busy, on-the-go shoppers seeking a quick-fix, full-on flavour hot dinner which doesn’t even require so much as an oven. It represents a huge opportunity for independent retailers to leverage both the fast-growing popularity of frozen and Pukka’s unrivalled magnetism when it comes to pulling in shoppers.”

Pukka’s Chicken Pie will be available to the convenience and wholesale channel in a £1.49 PMP. For more information or to place your order, please contact [email protected] or call 0116 264 4000.
